Dr. Peter Badger
Dr. Badger’s dental philosophy is to give his patients a healthy and attractive smile while emphasizing quality care and patient comfort in a friendly and relaxing environment. He schedules his patients so that there are no long waits in the waiting room. When you are in his treatment room, you are his only patient and top priority. As you enter his treatment room, you are greeted by the soothing sounds of a relaxing water feature. From his treatment chair you can watch the birds feeding and the squirrels playing a game of chase around the trees. He believes in giving each patient a range of options for treatment based on each individual’s needs. You can be assured that you will get a consultation, never a lecture, with Dr. Badger. His highly trained staff is geared toward the satisfaction of every patient. As his patient, you will be treated as if you were a member of his family.
Dr. Badger provides a full range of treatments from bonded restorations (non-mercury fillings), extractions and root canals, to porcelain crowns and implant dentistry. As a top notch dentist, he has maintained that providing quality dental care requires learning and mastering new techniques as they develop.
Born and raised in the small town of Dexter, Maine, Dr. Badger spent summers working in his father’s dental office as both a dental lab technician and as a dental assistant. Working with his father helped spark his love for dentistry. In 1976, he graduated from the University of Maine with a B.A. in Zoology/Pre-Dental/Pre-Med. As a member of the class of 1980, he was awarded Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston.
Following graduation, Dr. Badger left New England and moved to Florida, a state he visited many times as a youth. Tallahassee proved to be the ideal location combining a small town feel with the big city atmosphere. He found this to be the perfect place to settle down and raise a family.
In August of 1980, Dr. Badger became a Tallahassee dentist by starting a practice with Dr. Steven Aspros, a fellow student and roommate while at Tufts. Dr. Aspros was and is to this day, the best friend Dr. Badger ever had. Together they enjoy conquering new feats in general and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Badger has been married to his lovely wife, Alica, since 1986. She is his soulmate and also works as his chair side assistant. Not only is she highly trained, graduating from Dental Assistant School in Tampa, but you will notice that she bends over backward to make your dental experience as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. Together they have three children. Their oldest, Christopher, is an EMT in Texas and is studying hard to become a paramedic. Jonathan is currently studying at Tallahassee Community College to earn certification as Radiology Technician. Their youngest, Jennifer, is also a student at TCC. Dr. Badger has always been very family oriented and true to his Maine roots, he enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling with his wife. They have a great love for animals and the outdoors. They have had pets ranging from your standard dogs and cats to iguanas and horses.
